Well, we'll miss you if you can't make it. And the sweet lassi drink offer is still good until I pay up.

Our spring break starts tomorrow and I have, of course, overly high hopes of writing up this, that, and the other in a week - including 2 abstracts for SSSR. I'll probably get 20% of what I want done. If I'm lucky... :(

Sigh... I don't think I'm headed to Louisville. Really, I'm torn, but I've committed to go to Boston in August and don't think I'll have the money to do another conference in the fall. I haven't even submitted a paper. I've missed only 1 SSSR since, oh, 1990 I think. I enjoy rubbing elbows with all those sociologists, but this fall I'll be with the psychologists instead. I'm still debating it, though, and might try to attend anyways. I even have a project I could present, if only I can find time to write it up in the week remaining. :-(

I hear Louisville has some good restaurants. If we don't get together before October's conference, we'll find a good Indian place in Louisville, and the sweet lassi is on me! :)

OK, I've got it. I'll take a milkshake, but in the form of a sweet lassi. But let's go to a real Indian restaurant, not at the one in Tampa, a couple of blocks from the hotel where SSSR was at. Even *I* cook better food than they do!

Woo hoo! But maybe the drink should go to someone who has more interesting tastes in beverages than I do. A vanilla milkshake is my idea of livin' large in liquids. Whodathunk that you'd have such a boring friend? :-)

Mike wins a drink! Trinity is non-sectarian. It's named after the street where it was originally located in Hartford. It may have been sectarian at one point (I believe it was started by an Episcopalian priest), but it isn't any longer. So, what'll you have?

If I remember right, Trinity is one of those religious-sounding colleges that is actually not affiliated.

Of course, I may be wrong about this one!

Either way, I'm enjoying your travelogue :-)
