Poser!
After filling his belly with milk one day, Debi set Toren up next to the armrest of the couch. We try to keep him upright for about 30 minutes to help with his baby reflux. As he settled in, he assumed this pose:

I put Toren on the spare bed the other day while I grabbed something in that room then realized just how tiny he looked on that bed wrapped up:
I also tried to record him cooing the other day, but didn’t have much luck. This short clip is all I got.
Toren’s latest visitor flew in on Friday, his Uncle Steve (one of Debi’s brothers). He had the joy of waking up to Toren through the night, but has had several chances to hold him and feed him:
Last night, Steve and I went to the Rays game. They were ahead until the 7th inning, when they collapsed – they went through 4 pitchers in one inning and the A’s scored 4 runs on 2 home runs. I had never been to an MLB game. It was fun to see, both for the people watching (generally my favorite part) but also to see how they try to entertain the fans during the game (Rays Girls, terrible dance acts, three “1st” pitches [technically impossible, of course], etc.). Stay tuned for a follow-up post about the after-game concert tomorrow!
About a week after Toren was born we received a package in the mail. Upon opening it we found this:
It’s an embroidered blanket. The President of my University (University of Tampa) sent it (the card also said it was from the University Community). Very cool!
I don’t usually post about my job. I don’t know that anyone from UT reads the blog, but better safe than sorry. However, when it’s something positive, I figure, “What’s the harm?” One more perk of working at the University of Tampa…
Our friends gave us a couple of very cute onesies for Toren with Whinny the Pooh on them (one of which Toren proceeded to stain with a blowout, but we’ll get the stain out…). The outfits came with this cute hat, but it doesn’t seem to fit:
We’re trying to figure out if it is just that Toren’s head isn’t big enough or if the makers of the hat were going for the latest “look like the Pope” fashion…
Oh, and that is a double chin you’re seeing in that photo. Using our home scale we think he’s up to about 10 lbs. He’s turning into quite the little chunker!
