Ryan and Debi & Toren

Toren at the beach – comic version

While Rosemary (Debi’s mother) was here, we went out to Fort de Soto beach.  As luck would have it, we arrived amidst storms all around the beach and stayed for a couple of hours without getting rained on.  Just as we left, the rain hit (you can see the clouds in the background).

I have a bunch of photos from the beach trip, but this first sequence seemed conducive to putting up here as a comic strip.  So, here’s Toren’s first dip in the ocean in comic form:

Hey, where are you taking me? And why are there two of you?
Dad? Dad, save me!
Uh, yeah, what is that stuff? You aren't going to put me down there are you?
Did you check for sharks?
What about fish poop? It's not like they leave the ocean to go to the bathroom. This water has to be full of fish poop...
You're going to put me in the water anyway, huh? Fine, if it will make you happy, but I won't like it.
You call this "ocean", huh? It just feel like water to me. What's the big deal?
We drove 30 minutes for me to stand in a puddle of water?
Right, so, I'm done. Let's go...
Um, really, we should go. I think the water is rising. Are you guys seeing this too?
You know, this isn't that bad. Once you get used to it, it's kind of nice. Now I just need a swimsuit that is slimming...
That's it? Thirty minute drive, shark risk, fish poop, a 1920s-style swimsuit, and all I get is 5 minutes of putting my feet in the water? Not cool...
