Ryan and Debi & Toren

walk by the Weber River

Feeling like I had eaten too much the previous day, we decided to go for a walk with my mom by the Weber River.  There is a very nice, paved trail that starts in Riverdale and runs along the Weber River.  We followed it to its end (and past the end a bit) headed south, but it also goes north quite a ways.  It’s a great place to walk, push a stroller, or ride a bike.

Here’s a map of our walk:

I didn’t take any photos on this hike, but it was very scenic.  Oh, and I carried Toren in my backpack the whole time.

I do have a photo from the previous day.  After our hike, Toren needed a nap, as did most of the rest of us.  However, his cousins were going to a splashpad in Morgan later that afternoon.  Toren wanted to go, too, but he really needed sleep.  We got him to sleep for an hour or so, but then he woke up and cried because he wanted to go the splashpad.  So, I got all of his swim stuff and headed up to Morgan.  When we got there, I put his swim stuff on and headed toward the splash pad, at which point Toren said he didn’t want to get wet or play in the water.  Seriously!  His cousins saw him, ran over, and tried to get him to play in the water, but he wouldn’t budge.  He kept saying he wanted to go home.  Not pleased, I told him that I had driven all the way there because he wanted to play in the water and now he was going to have to watch the other kids play for at least fifteen minutes before we went home.  I positioned him right by the edge of the splashpad thinking he would eventually decide to go play.  I even took a picture after about 10 minutes of him just standing there:

I walked over to him three or four times to see if he was ready to play and he kept saying that he wasn’t and that he just wanted to stand there.  So, he did.  Then we drove home.  As soon as we pulled into the driveway, guess what he said?  “I’m ready to go to the splashpad now.”

Toren + sleep-deprived = monster!
