hard-wired politics?

Posted on September 11, 2007

I caught this article in the LA Times today about some recent neuroscience studies illustrating differences between conservatives and liberals. Turns out, there are actual biological differences: conservatives don’t respond well to ambiguity and don’t take kindly to change; liberals, on the other hand, are very accepting of change and tolerate ambiguity well. Like the article discusses, I’m not going to say whether this is a good or bad thing, but I do find the study intriguing. Maybe I’m genetically predisposed to my political and religious positions. If so, I’m definitely a mutant because my liberal tendencies don’t seem to run in my family.
