  • Poser!

After filling his belly with milk one day, Debi set Toren up next to the armrest of the couch.  We try to keep him upright for about 30 minutes to help with his baby reflux.  As he settled in, he assumed this pose:

  • big bed, little baby and a coo

I put Toren on the spare bed the other day while I grabbed something in that room then realized just how tiny he looked on that bed wrapped up: I also tried to record him cooing the other day, but didn’t have much luck.  This short clip is all I got.

  • Uncle Steve and the Rays

Toren’s latest visitor flew in on Friday, his Uncle Steve (one of Debi’s brothers).  He had the joy of waking up to Toren through the night, but has had several chances to hold him and feed him: Last night, Steve and I went to the Rays game.  They were ahead until the 7th inning, when…

  • UT blanket

About a week after Toren was born we received a package in the mail.  Upon opening it we found this: It’s an embroidered blanket.  The President of my University (University of Tampa) sent it (the card also said it was from the University Community).  Very cool! I don’t usually post about my job.  I don’t…

  • cute kid, small head?

Our friends gave us a couple of very cute onesies for Toren with Whinny the Pooh on them (one of which Toren proceeded to stain with a blowout, but we’ll get the stain out…).  The outfits came with this cute hat, but it doesn’t seem to fit: We’re trying to figure out if it is…

  • A Couple of Tired Monkeys…

While we had Toren dressed up and he was not crying, we decided to snap a few shots of him with his enormous monkey caretaker (a gift from Rosemary).  If these two don’t look relaxed, I don’t know what that word means… Just as I was about to wrap up I saw these and had…

  • We have a winner!!

I’m in the office working this morning when Debi comes in to change Toren (the changing table is in our office).  Everything seems fine and I’m typing away when Debi SCREAMS!!!  I’m not the type of person who typically freak out when women scream, but this is my wife changing our son.  I whirl around…

  • photos with Rosemary

The reason we did another photoshoot wasn’t to celebrate that Toren is now a month old (remarkable that we’ve kept him alive that long, really…), but to capture him with his Grandmary: Unfortunately, I got the lighting wrong for these photos and they ended up coming out with a yellowish tint.  I tried fixing them…

  • Namesake Photos

One of my former students sent Toren a very thoughtful gift – Capital: Volume I (1st US edition to boot).  Capital (or Das Kapital) is perhaps Karl Marx’s most famous work.  Thus, the gift is Toren’s first book by his namesake. Ever since the book arrived I’ve wanted to do a photoshoot with Toren and…

  • Good Morning!

I woke up to this the other day: I still wake up some days not realizing I’m a dad and have a son.  When he looks that cute, it’s a pleasant reminder…
