Debi had an early morning flight for a conference. That resulted in Toren getting up early. It was the weekend and a little chilly outside (you know, maybe in the 60s). So, what to do? Well, since I’m cheap, I figured I could take him to a kids’ play area in the local mall. It’s free and Toren likes play areas. So, that’s what we did:

The play area is Tampa Bay Rays themed with Bugs Bunny characters. Toren enjoyed playing on the toys, but also liked playing on the seating:
This is about the only time you’ll find me in a mall. But it was fun!
Toren is getting more and more mobile and more daring. Over the last month and a half he started diving on pillows on his bed and on ours. Since all of our floors are tile, this is pretty risky. If he falls, it won’t be pretty. So, we compromised. He wants to dive on pillows, we don’t want him to fall off a bed onto a tile floor: put the pillows on the floor (on top of several blankets). Et voila, Toren’s got a new game:
Toren still doesn’t like getting dropped off at daycare. Most days he cries, but he calms down almost immediately once we leave. But when we pick him up, it’s a different story. Ever since he could, he runs to us:
He does this every day! It’s heartwarming to know your child wants to be with you, even when he is surrounded by lots of cool toys.
This is a short video clip of Toren playing in one of the kitchen cupboards. This one is particularly funny at the 14 second mark as I’m telling Toren he needs to be careful because the last time he played with the blender he fell on it and cut open his lip. Watch Toren’s response:
